Tarek Chamkhi



Tarek Chamkhi was born in 1970 in Tunisia (North Africa). He is a journalist and academic with two university qualifications in Islamic studies and political sciences from Lebanese University and faculty of dawaa Islamiyah (Beirut- 1995). His works have appeared in such prestigious Arab and Lebanese newspapers as Al-Nnahar and Al-Hayat during the 1990s.

He has also published books on Islamic thought in Arabic. (1994- 2001)

He is interested in the geo-politics of the Muslim world and has plans to write a book on this matter. In 2008 Tarek established with his wife the first national Australian Muslim newspaper.

Tarek is the current Editor in Chief of Crescent Times.

He published a theory of Islamic geopolitics called "The Triangle of the Islamic Renaissance", which was first in 1996 and he is to review this theory 10 years on.
