IWA & Zakat Foundation Affiliation

The Zakat Foundation of America at http://www.zakat.org/ made the decision to partner with the IWA organization in order to provide promotional support and financial assistance with funding of on-going IWA projects that support literacy. We at IWA are very excited to have such a well-respected charitable organization as a partner in furthering our purpose and goals.

IWA members assisted the owner of Muslim Writers Publishing in giving over four dozen new Islamic fiction books to a new children’s school library at the IDA: Islamic Academy of Delaware.

Islamic Writers' Alliance 7th Annual Islamic Poetry Contest - 2011

The IWA sponsors a poetry contest annually, coinciding with the National (US) Poetry Month, i.e. April. The 7th Annual Poetry Contest has long since come to a close, and judges are finished with their responsibility, and the results have come to the following:

2011 IWA Annual Meeting

On February 16, 2011, the IWA Board held it's annual meeting via the yahoo egroup: islamicwritersannualmeeting, which was open for public attendance. The meeting was announced publicly and announcement was placed on the front page of this website as a Public Notice, dated February 2, 2011, and was removed from the home page on Februray 20, 2011.
