We are an international, professional organization of Muslim men and women dedicated to helping one another write about, present, and support positive Islamic fiction and non-fiction reading materials, in all genres, for all ages. The IWA is an inclusive organization and welcomes Muslim men and women of all races, ethnicities, linguistic backgrounds, abilities, and creeds.

Benefits of Full Membership

1) Members have access to the IWA's discussion lists -- one of IWA's main tools for networking, sharing publication opportunities, and support.

2) All members (published and unpublished) are listed on the IWA members page with a link to their personal IWA author's page. Each member receives a home page on the IWA website, a basic template for information, and webdesign/support/maintenance from our web administrator. This personal page is an opportunity to promote your writing and to establish a public face with the prestige of an international organization behind you.

3) Members may participate in IWA promotional activities, including: IWA book tables at Islamic conferences, conventions, book fairs, and community events; IWA sponsored panels at Islamic and writers conferences; IWA sponsored readings.

4) IWA members may submit work to any future Islamic Writers Alliance's anthologies. They may also submit work to be published in the bi-Annual IWA Newsletter.

5) Members receive name recognition by publishers, editors, and the reading public who visit IWA's site.

6) Members may vote in IWA business and run for office.

7) Members receive an IWA Membership Card once the Application process is completed.

8) Members have access to a template for creating your personalized IWA business cards.


Benefits of Associate Membership

1) Associates have access to the IWA's discussion lists -- one of IWA's main tools for networking, sharing publication opportunities, and support.

2) IWA Associates may submit work to any future Islamic Writers Alliance's anthologies. They may also submit work to be published in the bi-Annual IWA Newsletter.

3) Associates are listed as an Associate Member on the IWA website, with exposure and name recognition by publishers, editors, and the reading public who visit IWA's site.

4) Associates may participate in IWA promotional events.

5) Associate members do not vote on organizational matters, nor may they run for the board.


IWA Membership Requirements

To join the Islamic Writers Alliance, as a member or an associate, you must:

  • Be an adult Muslim (18 and up).
  • Agree to join the Islamic Writers Alliance online e-group where IWA business is conducted. Joining our discussion forums is optional.
  • Fill out the application form, which includes legal name and address information, and return it to the current IWA Financial Officer. All personal information will be kept confidential and will not be sold or provided to any other individual, group, business, or organization.
  • Full members pay an annual membership fee of $25 (USD). If an individual is unable to pay the membership fee, application may be made to the Financial Officer for the fees to be paid from the IWA assistance fund.

Full Member Application Instructions

Step 1: Click here to email your membership application to the Financial Officer. Your email must include: 1) your legal last name and first name, 2) the name you prefer to use for IWA business, 3) your mailing address, 4) your telephone number, and 5) your preferred email. All personal information will be kept confidential and will not be sold or provided to any other individual, group, business or organization.

Step 2: Pay the annual dues: $25 total. You may use PayPal (send to Linda D. Delgado at woodad@mindspring.com), or send a Money Order/Check in USD made out to Linda D. Delgado:

Step 3: Post an introduction to the IWA business e-group after you receive the e-group registration confirmation email.

Step 4: You will be sent a Member Profile form to complete for your IWA webpage. Fill in the form and return it to the Web Administrator.


Associate Member Application Instructions
