Dawoud Kringle

Dawoud A. Kringle is a 49 year old New York City based musician and aspiring writer. He began studying music and playing guitar at age 10, and began playing sitar at age 18. He has performed and toured in the United States and Europe, produced or co-produced many recordings, composed and performed music for film, theater, and dance projects, and composed countless pieces. His music is heard on the radio in the US, Europe, Russia, and Indonesia, and the world over online. He also has over 30 years of experience as a music teacher.

Dawoud's articles, poetry, and short stories have appeared in several publications, including Illume Magazine, Doobeedoobeedoo, and several online periodicals. He has recently finished his first novel Tales from the Sufi Warrior, an Islamic science fiction story, is at work on another Islamic science fiction novel, a collection of his philosophical and political writings, and a textbook on music.

He also does volunteer work as an Imam with the New York City Department of Corrections.

He is currently working on another novel, in the elusive sub-genre of Islamic sci-fi, with the hopes of finishing the manuscript soon and getting it ready for publishing.
