I am Veiled
By
Enna Ayub
I am a veiled
woman
I am funny, passionate, lovable and real
Just like you
I yearn to be powerful, raunchy and independent
yet I am dependable, tenacious
unforgettable, misunderstood
I feel my spirit is slowly sinking
under the weights of this treacherous world
yet I pull myself out before I suffocate
with a raging jolt
I am a veiled woman
I stand out in a crowd. I am enigmatic, mysterious
Although my clothes are dark,
I will shine brighter than the sun
I am always hopeful
