My Birthday
By Raneen Hijazi (age 8)

November fifteen is my birthday
I told Mrs. Clough
The children were dieing today in my country
It was really tough
I feel for them because they are my people
Who have been killed by evil
They don't live to have another birthday
Oh why Oh Why
They have to die
They are like stars that vanished from the sky
Nobody cared to hear their cry
I pray I pray
For evil to end and peace to come
And all the children to be happy and play
And this will be my birthday
