We're living in a
dark age
With luxuries galore
Things are just the same
As the centuries before
Yet now comes a new twist
Electric eyes and ears
Watching and recording
Their subjects far and near
Kings still exploit the poor
And take away the land
Torture any peasant
Who tries to take a stand
Now dressed in suits and ties
They tell us that we're free
And its the flock of doves
Who threaten liberty
They rob people of their minds
And most degradingly
All based on their belief
And spirituality
Don't mention untold truths
Don't mention muted youths
Or wartime trauma diaries
How could they start anew?
Man was created weak
Can perform good or evil
Without true guidance
Is worse than any devil
We're living in a dark age
With luxuries galore

Watching and recording

Despising democracy?
They rob people of their rights
And human dignity
Based on the garments they adorn
And nationality
Don't mention slavery
Don't mention equality
Or child laborers
Whos tears could fill the sea
Man was created weak
Can perform good or evil
Without true guidance
Is worse than any devil
