The Islamic Writer’s Alliance (IWA) is proud to announce that in support of young Muslim authors, we are adding a new section to our website, www.islamicwritersalliance.net, to showcase young Muslim authors and their work. Each young author approved for representation will receive his or her own page within the section, displaying the author's name, age, grade level, short biography, book titles, and a .jpg image of a book cover, as well as links to sellers.
Although the IWA only allows adult membership, the IWA is sponsoring the Young Authors section in order to support young Muslim authors in their young professional careers by showcasing their works. Interested applicants need not be related to IWA members to benefit from this free service.
The three requirements to have your name represented on this page of this website are:
1.That you are a Muslim, and your parent or guardian completes, signs and submits your application & permission form.
2.That you are a youth, maximum age 17 years.
3.That you are a published author of a book or a booklet.
No private information (physical address, phone numbers, etc.) is desired nor will it be collected by the IWA. The IWA does not even request nor desire the Young Author’s email address. Only the author's name, his or her publication title, professional website, and links to purchase the publication will be viewable on the website. Only the parent’s email address is requested for future necessary communication. An Author’s Bio is requested, but this is optional for submission.A more detailed guideline on how to compose the bio is included in the submission form, expelling all unnecessary personal data.
For an idea of how the Young Author’s Pages section may eventually appear, please have a look at the ‘Members & Associates’ listing section of the website. The Youth pages will follow a similar format, which will display pertinent information and a jpg image of the publication.
To obtain an application & parental permission form, please send an email request to the IWA’s secretary at: balqees.mohammed@gmail.com, secretary@islamicwritersalliance.net, and include “young author’s page application request” in the subject line. A form will be sent to you for completion.
